I can understand why Startle was such an important daylily, but for the life of me, I can't see why anyone would call it red. Washed out pink might be more like it. It has not been a good grower for us either. However, today, it had several flowers open. This is the best we have ever seen it.

Dennis Russell has not been a very good grower for us.

I am surprised how well Fantasy and Dreams (a Mark Carpenter daylily) has done for us. This is another late bloomer starting in June.

I hope Firestone straightens up. The first couple of blooms have been blotchy. They are large, though, and very toothy. It also came through the winter fine.

Saberback is quite a large flower.

I think we are going to like Nogales.

One of our interests is working with reverse bicolors. This is one we bought for that program--O'Bannon Orchid.

I usually list the parentage, but this one has lost its tag so until we look at the map, we aren't sure. I think it is Lady Stephanie Victoria Redding X Terrorsaur.

By the way, we did get rain this afternoon. The south and east part of Terre Haute had lots of damage and about 17,000 people are without power. We had a normal thunderstorm here with no damage.

Back Draft and Bob Marley are certainly bright enough to make garden statements! Tropical Tease is a pretty color. Your lost name seedling could join the bright color club!!

That's the second time I've seen Luscious Kiss and liked it. I think Sherry was the first time. I more then likely wouldn't get the same colors in my climate where true purple is usually maroon or some such, but it still makes me go hummm.......Like the hot colors of course, and Nogales caught my eye enough to look it up. Turns out it's a Hensley daylily and the one picture they have on the NGA database has it a deep orange red. Still the more subdued color drew my attention anyway.............Maryl

Back Draft is one I would pick and I do have Bob Marley (thanks to Kay). For my garden, I like the pops of color and mixing those types of color with other perennials. Nice group of pics.Glad you got some rain. Hope we get some here soon.

Your seedlings are looking good! I like the little double, Computer Virus, yes, what a name. Your Luscious Kiss does look like a different daylily, so palecompared to mine this season. I have had several pale blooms this season….early heat???

The Back Draft clump is bright and eye catching, and Bob Marley looks like a terrific multiplier. I find Tropical Tease's color and watermark appealing. Both of the seedlings look great! Strong color and fantastic edges on both.

What a pretty post, Nancy! Of course, I do love Bob Marley and I agree with Bob about Back Draft. Luscious Kiss is a pretty one as is Tropical Tease. iI have no idea what I accidentally hit to get italics. It's a new keyboard. Firestone is pretty and I like O'Bannon Orchid. since I, too, like reverse bitones....to be honest I like bitones anyway. I like the colors, so like Nogales.

Maryl, you are right about Luscious Kiss and Nogales. Today, after yesterday's rain and cooler temperatures, Luscious Kiss is more purple and Nogales is a deeper color, more toward red. It's surprising how weather can change the looks of a daylily.
