Playing catch up like others

Loving everyone's posts. Today is rainy and there is a tornado watch just south of me until 8 pm tonight.

I will start with the newcomers to my garden.

THE FURYAN: This is the FFE. It is a large flower. I usually don't mind water on blooms, but for the first bloom, I would have liked it to be a little less soaked.

GREYWOODS CLAWS AND EFFECT: FFE and I really like it.

WONDER OF IT ALL: new to me. I like it. I hope that it keeps opening well for me. Lots of ruffles.

Now to some that I have grown for a while.

TERESA A. MOSHER: Recently tranplanted

MANDALAY BAY MUSIC: One of the parents of WONDER OF IT ALL. The first picture was yesterday morning and the second was in the evening.

CHANCE ENCOUNTER: Very consistent performer

FABULOUS FRIEDA: I just love the color of this bloom.

That is all from me.

Plan is to move more plants tomorrow, so I will get pictures from that garden as well.

These are very pretty blooms. I likeThe Furyan and the Greywoods bloom is quite nice. Your Chance Encounter is darker than mine and so pretty. Good luck with plant move.

The first two new ones are very nice. Wonder of It All needs heat to open properly. When it does open well, it's stunning. I enjoyed seeing your photos of Mandalay Bay Music. I grew it successfully in a pot for about five years before a bad winter killed it. I always thought it was pretty. The color on Fabulous Frieda is fabulous!

Chance Encounter is one of my favorites and I love the crosses it makes. Yours looks good! FABULOUS FRIEDA is quite pretty!

I see that The Furyan is a Beck. It will be interesting to see how it does for you. His cultivars are gaining attention, but the jury seems to be out on performance. Where did you pick up yours?

I was an aution plant from last year's Free State Daylily Society club's auction. The club seems to purchase 2 or 3 of his plants per year. I too am anxious to see how it performs once it is established.

Furyan got my attention. Pretty great for an FFE. Any idea what/who a Furyan is?.............Maryl

Maryl, below is what I found out about FURYAN:

Humans are classified largely by the planet they inhabit. Some, which dwell on very mild planets (reminiscent of Earth) can be reflected as any human in our reality. However, those that settled on much harsher planets, such as the largely unstable Furya, have evolved very unique characteristics absent in other renditions of humanity across the galaxy. That is to say, Furyans are much hardier, having been forced to adapt to the unforgiving climate and rigid landscape of their new "homeworld." That said, perhaps the most defining feature of Furyans are their incredible legacy as powerful, spiritual warriors.

Very pretty blooms...The rain is much liked since we have gotten so little, and Greywoods Claws and Effect is my pick.

Thanks David for looking that up. I saw the Riddick franchise (3 movies - the 2nd with Judi Dench of all people). Pitch Black was the first one and the one I liked best. I'd forgotten the back story to Riddick however. Appreciate the information.......Maryl
