24” kitchen sink?

In order to keep my peninsula I would need a 24” sink cabinet. I cannot find a sink this small in the stores to visualize the size, all are on-line only or only carry larger sinks. Could you please share photos of your 24” sink with pans or baking trays inside so I can get some perspective? The largest tray I have is 21” so I think I should be able to fit everything in it, but I want to be sure.

A 24" sink undermounts into a 24" cabinet when you strap, not clip or block, it in place. If the sink flanges are a standard 1", the interior of the sink will be 22".

That is a very small kitchen sink.

Bowl size is 20" wide by 17.5" front to back. Full size frying pan, turkey roaster, lobster pot . 3/4 size baker's sheet .

I hope this helps you for size comparison on the 24" model you are looking for.

is the cabinet salesperson dicating this?

@Jane. No, it’s not the cabinet designer. Right now my dishwasher is in the peninsula and I’d prefer it next to the sink. If I use a 30” cabinet then when I open the dishwasher it is too close to the peninsula to unload into the drawers. With a 24” I have at least some space to open them up. Otherwise I lose the peninsula altogether. So if a 24” will fit all of my kitchen pots and pans I’m okay with that since right now I have a double sink and it’s tiny.

The large bowl in my double-bowl sink is 21.5" wide (interior) and will give you an idea of what would fit:

While the cookie sheet in the second picture is 19"W, my 21"W one also fits (I don't have a picture of it). You can see the extra space on the two sides.

(Yes, it's a "D" shaped. I preferred that b/c I was able to pull my faucet closer to me and I don't have any sharp corners to clean. I re-did my Kitchen in 2008 and they were more popular then.)

A 24" sink with 21-22" interior width a large enough for washing the things you commonly use in your kitchen. It could be the default choice for most kitchens. To get a feel for the capacity, make a 18x21x9" deep cardboard box and test out the size. You'll find it works and leaves more counter to use for prep. A 24" base gives you an extra foot of cabinet space for drawers over a 36" base.

Ignore the sink manufacturers recommendation requiring a 27" base. As Joe said, install with a strap. Preferred for all sink installs. Undermount Sink Install (Granite Countertop DIY Episode 11) (youtube.com)

Thanks again! The top rack of my dishwasher is almost exactly this size and I can fit everything in there if I need something to soak. My current double sink has bowls that are 14x16 so it seems huge to me!
