My husband and I are both lacking in design. Our home is late 90’s and only the kitchen was updated when we bought it. We don’t want to dump too much money in it as we will be selling in about three years (plus not a lot of money to spare and a kiddo going to college in two years). We want to update it so that it will sell for a decent price and can do a lot of work ourselves.
Our dilemma is that everything is golden oak…doors, trim, cabinets and vanities. If we change one thing, we have to change them all, so we can’t afford to replace. Painting is an option. We do plan on ripping out carpet and putting in wood floors on main level, but have to match the wood floor in the entry. We are stumped because we keep coming back to change one thing means going down a rabbit hole of making everything match.

Current plans are to replace doors as they are the hollow wood, and all bathrooms need remodeling. Need ideas for bannister and entryway, along with doors and trim.
