Extending the maple hardwood into the bedroom would be most people's preference. Wood look tile adjacent to real hardwood typically looks like a design miss as does wood look tile in a bathroom since that would not normally be a space that has wood floors.

tlynn1960 I was a little concerned about real hardwood meeting tile hardwood. The issue is we want heated floors and I don't think that's recommended underneath real wood. Appreciate your response.

I never have liked wood look tile so that would be a no for me. You can have hardwood with underfloor heating . I like 12 x24 porcelain for floors and bathroom shower walls they look nice and clean and I suppose they will be okay in the bedroom with a nice couple of rugs by the bed for barefeet .

In floor heating is super cozy so I can understand wanting it in a bedroom. My first hope would to put it under new wood flooring, second would be to choose pretty new tile for bedroom and bath that you like— maybe larger format for bedroom area

lissam thanks for the info and input. I didnt know you could put it under hardwood as I thought the heat would cause the heat to contract the wood causing gaps. Defindefinitely want warm and cozy floors as I HATE the coldI

Just spent almost a month in Italy and hated having tile under foot in all of the bedrooms of our hotels. It is just so hard and unwelcoming feeling. I'd do wood floors with heat under them.
