I am working on my new build and designing my 18 x 14 dining room. It is a very traditional home and I have a family heirloom Chippendale dining room table and matching hutch I plan on using. It seems like with centered lighting it is always more crowded when seated on the hutch side. Would it be weird to hang the dining chandelier 2’ off center? I am contemplating moving the entry and lighting 2’ over, in essence centering table in the space left over from hutch. This is current set up, in smaller dining room. But lay out is similar, I would like to hang light where red line is, and move table over. (The ceiling will not be tray.)
