Great pic @lovemycorgi z5b SE michigan!

I love the base plants...very clever.

I am surprised it is on its second flush.

    (How old is this specimen?)

I had mine in a pot the first year and it did really well. But I was lazy and left it outdoors all winter and it died :(. So I replaced it and put it in the ground a couple of seasons ago

    How do you "store" yours?

    How tall is that obelisk?

    How large is the container?

Now I have it in a container on my back patio in full sun - it’s finally happy!

A container for Rooguchi?? It can be a quite vigorous clematis. I can only imagine what it might do to a pot! Id love to see a picture of this setup.

Hey rouge! I purchased a pair of Rain Dance clems last year, in gallon containers. They’ve been very vigorous for me.

I stored them overwinter in my unheated, attached garage. We had a very mild spring, so I took them out early, as they each had multiple shoots growing already. They started blooming in late May and then immediately started forming new buds when they were finished blooming…I just can’t get over how this clem just keeps going!

They are now in 20 inch square containers; their trellises are maybe 48 inches, which I’ve discovered is too short!

And yes, a container for Rooguchi! I needed to be able to protect it, it’s had a rough couple of years. Plus we are planning on moving to more property (as soon as we find a something we like), so I figured I’ll just take it with me and plant it at my new house.

    Lucky duck!

You must be (lots?) younger than myself as our next residence will for sure be less property and that is saying something as we dont really have much now.

Threading its way through the tree....the best @mazerolm_3a :).

@rouge: yes, it’s best in trees but my clems seem to be making a concerted effort to bloom on my neighbor’s side, not mine! 😆

Gorgeous pics, all. I have not seen Rain Dance for sale anywhere in the US. I thought maybe I had been sent one by mistake but maybe it's Arabella. What is the difference between the two?

I grew Rooguchi in a pot for a couple of years and it did well but then died. I have two in the ground now and they tolerate a surprising amount of drought. They are not as lush as yours, Rouge. One is pretty lush but in a good bit of shade where it blooms but not that much.

Not many clems are blooming here in NC, zone 7a in July. I see a lone Rhapsody bloom, a few small water starved Polish Spirit blooms, a few Rooguchi. Most of them are done. I did cut back Arabella and it is setting some buds.
