It is sad to see all of these lates blooming early too. Wonder what will be left in August, same thing here. Like the color on the VT seedlings.

Those Carmen Renee blooms are really nice. I assume you are still looking to getting later blooming plants from your hybridizing?

Kate, yes I will probably do a few more for the late season. I've really been able to extend the season here. And when most of these are done, the VTs finish the year till frost. Not this year, though as they've already started.

Carmen x Last Melon is a pretty seedling! I prefer the look of the darkest of the clump.

If they are so early, maybe you will have more rebloom?

Nat, that's what I was thinking but so far nothing. Belle Isle Sentry will probably rebloom in Sept. but it always does.

I applaud your goal of hybridizing for the late season. We need more late bloomers, especially in other colors than yellow. Your pink/lavender seedlings are lovely!

Carmen Renee x VT the Last Melon is such a pretty clump, and I like both the light and dark versions of it.
