I take a lot of flower pics as they help ID hostas sometimes. This flower was found on a neighbor’s hosta. The unusual coloring helped ID it as Old Glory.

Sherrygirl I do love your purple blooms on you ventricosas. I enjoy the flowers on my hostas. It seams all summer something is blooming. Here is a favorite, Moonlight Sonata. I love the larger open flower.

Sherry I do like a dark purple flower and ventricosa is lovely. The Nightlife & Moonlight Sonata flowers are very nice. Debra the flowers of OG were identifiable because I have Beyond Glory and need to find a spot for my OG. They are both fabulous!

Gee picking one is too hard!

    Beyond Glory

Rainforest Sunrise has such pure white well formed flowers.

Goober. This pick is from last year since the buds are just forming.

There are so many that need mention. Blue Angel has some of the best ever. Teaspoon and any of the mice!

Love the pictures! I think it is an art to take pics of the flower well. I confess I do not like most hostas blooming as it usually looks messy to me. I do like most ventricosa color of the flower this deep jewel purple. I do not have species but couple of hostas of Lakesides do have it. One is LS storm watch. Not the best pic but HL has s great one.

Another one and I am sure we have it in our alphabet somewhere is a LS lollipop. This combination of bright white flower with dark green round leaves is a stunner.

And I do like Manhattan flowers, specifically right when the start opening. Dark stem and dark jewel purple.

Paradise Sunshine, Miss America, Touch of Class, and Fragrant Bouquet are all blooming for me right now. If only it was not 100 actual degrees F outside…

I must admit I do love Blue Angel’s flowers. It was blooming on June second and it’s still got flowers.
I love Blazing Saddles flowers. It has such tall petioles with big flowers.
Love the simple beauty and fragrance of Ambrosia.
I also love Teaspoon in full bloom……so many flowers!

Here’s a closeup of Blazing Saddles flower and Teaspoon when in bloom.

Finally, after looking at all my flower pics I decided I really like Squash Casserole. Like Old Glory, it has an unusual feature. Six petals, 3 have dark purple middle with dark purple higher up on the top sides of the petals. The other 3 have the dark purple middle only. Very pretty.

'Sea Octopus' is right up there for me, nice, rich colour! Not to be outdone of course by 'Rollercoaster Ride'...

Too bad hosta_maker left us. He breeds for pretty flowers. I'd love to see his latest ones.

Sherry..I saw your post and intended to take pics of my blooms but didn’t do it 🤦‍♀️..

I’ll use old pictures..I love Plantaginea..both the look and the fragrance..

Clausa is a thug..it’s been a pain in the neck for me..but I like the closed blooms..fyi - the name Clausa means closed..

One of my favourites, clausa var. normalis, such a rich colour! It's one of the later ones to flower for me, late July/early August, more or less in line with other red-petioled ones. Now, having said that, this is 'Red Stilts', which has darker petioles than clausa but the flowers are way paler.
