Many people will say that with the 4" riser you have, don't tile above it -- that riser is the backsplash. OTOH many people go ahead and tile :) The colors you are sampling all look pretty dark in the photos.

Myself I would tile with one of the solids behind the range only.

I like the 1st tile on the right. It's colorful enough and has enough interest to contrast with the backsplash and other colors.

I would do the blue and white tile behind the range only. The others are too dark, as rebasheba said. The fact that you already have the four inch backsplash means whatever you do won't look the same as what you usually see in pictures. In general, having a different tile behind the range, or arranging it in a bordered pattern behind the range, was more popular 15 years ago. A uniform look is more popular now. That doesn't mean you can't do something different, but with a light countertop and white cabinets, dark tiles would be too much contrast, IMO.

Hi there, as @rebasheba pointed out you already have a backsplash. It is the 4” piece of counter material, consider removing it before you add any tile.

Consider using the flower pattern everywhere, like they do on the Floor&Decor web site. Your space doesn’t seem to have a lot of natural light mine doesn’t either. Dark backsplash tile can really be a bummer in darker spaces. Are you planning to install under-cabinet lighting? If so, do it before the tile goes in. With this type of backsplash I would highly recommend you use plugmold to minimize cuts in the pattern.

It is a busy tile, colorful and bright - it should give your space a lift. And make sure your installer knows how to mount and cut glass mosaic tile.

No to an accent area above the range-that was a Tuscan kitchen feature from years ago. Choose one coordinating tile color and size-perhaps in a medium tone color, not those high contrast dark tiles.

I'd be tempted to leave your 4" splash. Paint the rest of the splash area under your cabinets a color very similar to your counters. Then use the green and white mosaic as a feature behind your range and hood up to the top of your upper cabinets. Then add in a couple of splashes of color elsewhere in you kitchen that either coordinate with the green or contrast with it (mustard or tangerine) towels, fruit bowl.

There are plenty of ways to work with a feature backsplash that are not the 90s Olive Garden rustica look. Decide what you want to achieve first though: Wall protection, more color or texture in the room, or to put your own design stamp on the space?

Your kitchen feels painfully plain, but you don't want to fix that by slapping on tile that feels like an after thought.

Either keep the 4" counter splash and tile only behind the range and up around the hood, or get rid of the 4" splash and tile the whole space under the cabinets and the range. (What material is your counter, how is the 4" attached, can you remove it without leaving a mark?)

Here are some examples of feature tile behind ranges. Some of these work well and others are too busy. Hopefully the inspire a direction for you.

This has a short splash on the counters like yours and feature behind the range. If you painted under your cabinets a color more similar to your counters, you could leave your current low splash an do a feature.

(This would have looked so much better with thinner and lighter grout on the subway!)

No flower patteren anywhere and for sure not as an accent behind the range that is a dated look and honestly only ever was good in a Tuscan kitchen ideally in Tuscany. Colrs for backspalsh need to have a reason for tem so what is it that connects blue to anything in the kitchen . You wiull need toremove the 4' piece before installing anything. IMO kieep it simple leave the 4 " do astainless back for the range and add you color in some accessories that when you tire of it you can change easilyl

It looks like you already have a 4" backsplash, so if you remove that, then adding a backsplash should be okay. However, we might suggest doing the same backsplash throughout.

Are you keeping the current countertops? If so, it looks like you already have the 4" backsplash. If you will be adding a backsplash, it is recommended to remove that 4" piece.
