I will preface this with I am not good with any sort of interior design. I just do not have an eye for it, and made mistakes in the past that were too costly to correct and I had to live with my poor choices.
I was told to start here by uploading pictures and asking for advice.

We have recently bought this home. Built in 77, previous owners reno’d this washroom ~10 years ago.

What I want is a soaking tub to replace what we currently have. Yes I know walk-ins would be easier but it is not what I want. So I won’t consider the suggestion.
The alcove is about 58” in width and ceilings are 8ft high.

I’m going to keep the existing built in closet storage and vanity (painting them only).

I have a contractor who will do excellent tiling for the floors and tub area, and plumbers as well.

What I need is to tell them what kind of tub and what tiles to use. I’d would appreciate ideas on paint colors too. I prefer more classic designs because I’d like this Reno to last 10+ years. I like color, not just everything white or grey. I’m open to white or grey being present, just not everything. I’m partial to blue hues.
