I would paint the whole verticle indent in the Iron Ore color, trim and all all the way to the overhand.

do the whole thing the one color (including side lite) I'd also paint the trim around the window the same as the door.

is there iron ore anywhere else? or any other dark colors?

to me it kind of sticks out, not in a good way. maybe it's because of the board and batten above? or maybe because it's such a drastic color w/all of the lighter neutral tones.

If you want the darker door, try more of the darker bronze colors. they work better w/the brick and the siding. And I'd do a copper/bronze light and diff numbers.

Either of these would look good w/the brick and the current siding.

I also think a dusky blush color woul look cool

or something that matches the tones of your brick

Thanks for the ideas. There are no dark colours anywhere else but I could paint the garage door to match the Iron Ore front door.

I think the white frame around the door connects to the rest of the white trim on the house OR I’d have to paint the window above and the vertical pieces to match…

Still confused! Perhaps a white door is the simplest choice.

I would paint the trim around the door to match the door. It's OK to have the door be its own thing, separate from window trim. The dark color looks nice and I also really like Beth's blush and purple-y suggestions. Would you definitely keep the sidelight? It could look really nice with an extra wide door; for some reason, to me the sidelook looks "off" with the arched window above. Or perhaps two thinner sidelights on either side of the door.
