In my cottage I used a 25’ runner from Amazon.

Are you installing the runner or will you have it done professionally? I think the borders at the short end will be cut off so that they end at the joint between the rise and tread. I used several 10' rugs to create my staircase runner and cut all the short borders except the one at the very bottom of the staircase.

I did this several years ago after watching a few YouTube videos. It was very easy other than the turn. Under the runner I added carpet padding and nail strips at the joints. From what I recall, cuts are represented by red lines. I'm certain this is not how a professional would have done it but it worked for me.

I agree with you, Friday. It takes some vision to be able to spot the diamonds. Some experience and skill, too. Some people believe it is all about money. It isn’t. And that can even be the case with literal diamonds! :)

It’s funny because one of the pieces of jewelry that I have - and on which I have received the most compliments - is a fake diamond ring. A very simple band... but the way it’s set and the quality of the “stones” is right. Plus, whenever I've worn it - it is the ONLY piece I wear. I’ve had more people comment on that ring, than on anything else.
