Transitional Accent Walls

My house is 5 -stories and contemporary. I am interested in accent walls but I need help. I have light oak floors and stairs with black rod iron contemporary staircase. I thought about adding a texture wall with black wood panels or even large tiles to accent the walls. What are your thoughts? Currently the winfow frames are being painted black.

The daylight coming into your stairwell is a nice element. Could you simply paint with a pretty color that will reflect more than black? Or maybe a gorgeous subtly patterned runner to soften sounds.
