All dad had to do was make sure nobody went to the emergency room for the pumpkin carving ( that's one please ) to sit on the stoop.... exactly one week before Halloween.

The first school bus hasn't yet hit the road, not yet has a clam been eaten for a Labor Day picnic........

I am I guess with Jan , never did much except maybe a bit in the front porch where we always gave out the candy . I did dress like a witch and always did all the neighbor kids make up and cstumes but not really the house. We have a neighbor now who has already begun to do his yard it is fantastic and I check it out every year to see what has been done . I don't even really go crazy at Christmas but halloween for sure not . It is hard to see the house but the idea of a graveyard in that front lawn seems to be a good idea.I think Amazon has some projectore lighting too.

May I add a note of caution. Do not use "spider webs" or any other kind of netting outdoors. Or if you do, put it on your front door. Birds, including owls, can and will fly into these, as well as other animals like squirrels will get trapped and die, when the netting is between trees, bushes, unfortunately easy to access, etc. Their danger to wildlife is very real. Please restrict netting to indoors only.

On Halloween, you can add some cadle lit Jack o" Lanterns and you're all set.

It all depends on whether you want a lot of Halloween decor or more of just fall decor.

Since your front yard is a good size and the house is covered by tress and shrubs, I would do both. Have the front door designed in nice fall decor that can be left up until Thanksgiving - think pumpkins in multiple colors, hay bales, mums etc.

Put lights in the shrubs and start you decorating around the large tree - mostly in front of it. If this is the first time decorating this home, don't try to do it all. You need to build on it over the years. You will also need to store whatever you are displaying so keep that in mind.

A friend of mine would collect and wash out the black foam trays leftover from her groceries and turn them into bats to hang off her trees.
