Place your desk chair between the windows, back against the wall, and facing into the room with the desk facing the wall. The desk would be 'floating' in the room. But not a small writing desk, a regular sized desk is more practical.

A rolling chair that swivels would be ideal to face the windows or the room while working.

The cabinets seem fine as is, a small table lamp would work there.

@tracyfloyd I have a desk on in the other side of the room. The challenge is I have three monitors on the desk and putting it right in the middle creates an ugly mess with wires because there are no floor outlets. No amount of hiding works. Any recommendation of art work? I like the green color suggestions made by @stiley

For art, I'd get on Etsy and search for originals. You can get real art for a reasonable price, and it would be unique to you. Estate sales are another great place to find good art.
