Take a picture of the whole house from a distance where we can see the whole. For advice on planting, where are you located: zone and nearest city. Mention any challenges, like particularly sandy/clay-ey soil, deer, etc.

What plants do you have now? I notice you have hosta. My hostas grow pretty big, yours look either overshadowed by other plants or not yet grown to full size. The easiest thing would be to move the hostas into the empty areas and wait a few years.
