I love evergreen fog was just hoping to find something darker that doesn’t compete with the floors.

Do you have an extra floor tile, you could take to the paint store, and put samples up against it? Might be easier to find the darker color you are wanting.

No, the foyer floor is original to the house and while we replaced all the flooring downstairs we kept the slate. It’s beautiful but now I’m frustrated because I want color in the office and can’t decide on anything.

Wow that slate is gorgeous. I like all the colors posted above with your floors, to include the ones you’re playing with, especially the urbane bronze. Curious-what color is the foyer side of your front door? It appears to go nicely with the slate. Maybe that, deepened a few shades?
And please do the slate a favor and find a more cohesive front door rug. Maybe a smaller Persian style with the greens/ blues? Wool is very forgiving.

Paint the room the color of the front door.

Or, leave the walls as is and purchase a new rug. I would replace the rug either way.
