Thank you, that makes a difference in plant recommendations. I would want evergreens (planted four feet out from the house) with dwarf hydrangeas in front. Plant your evergreens far enough out that you will be able to walk behind them comfortably to wash the windows and maintain the house.

Ditto what cecily wrote. You don’t say what direction this planting bed faces. If it’s south or west, consider the hot afternoon sun & the reflected heat off the windows.

Good point, the flower bed faces northwest and will get sun from 3pm onwards.

Will the evergreens not be too tall and cover the windows?

Yews are very prunable. If they get too big, just trim them back down.

How high is window ledge from ground? If less than 3 feet, think very carefully about what to plant closer to house — something very dwarf-/ or you’ll be pruning a lot.

I don’t have an exact design to suggest , but at 14’ deep you might want to re- think the usual stepped down back- to -front planting rows, that’s just viewed from the street ( especially if the back row evergreens start encroaching on the windows— and plant in a way you can view from inside. And maybe a dwarf ornamental tree at the farthest angle from the house.

If the area gets six hours of sun, then two or three dwarf hydrangeas like Bobo or one of the Invincibelle varieties would do very well there. Just plant them about three feet away from the house. In front of the hydrangeas I would recommend planting several dwarf boxwoods or arborvitaes. This of course depends on what zone you are in.
