Actually I have five kids and have white furniture. Love them because they are slipcovered and I can throw them in the washer once a month and they are good to go again. I have the IKEA Ektorp sofa in my living room and the IKEA sectional in my family room, both white. And yes, I even let the kids eat on them.

Totally agree. Slipcovers are the way to go. Mine aren't white - they're a honey color. But with white, you can bleach if you need to.
