Lighting is subjective and there are lots of styles that would work in this space. Find some local lighting showrooms, not big box store, and walk around to see what catches your eyes. Once you have a certain look that you like, the sales people in the showroom can show you books/websites with even more similar lights.

You have lighting in the spaces, so don't feel like you have to rush to buy something else right away.
