TV is not a decorative item. :-))) I would go with bigger one. LOL

If you still prefer to have the TV above the fireplace, then get the 65" that fills the space. It's a black rectangle on the wall no matter what. If you are trying to minimize the TV, I imagine you'd get a smaller one that can be mounted lower to the right of the fireplace instead.

65" but over the FP is really too high for comfortable viewing

Certainly not any higher and can we see the whole room please . As for size might as well go bigger put it on a mount that allows it to drop in front of the FP to proper viewing height .

My Samsung The Frame TV with a DecoTV decorative frame. Frame TV comes in all different sizes. You don't have to use the decorative frame, but I like the look. My TV is a 75". I really like not having a "black hole" when we aren't using the TV.

Thank you everyone for your comments I appreciate it! We decided to go with the 65”. As for people who say it does not go above a fireplace and to put it somewhere else, we already knew that but unfortunately there is no other place to put it (there are windows all around and there is no fourth wall it’s open concept to the kitchen).

I think you made the right decision. We recently got a new TV and were going to get a 65". Then we decided the space could handle a 75" (not over a fireplace) but were a drop hesitant. The one we liked ended up being 77" and just yesterday as we were watching football we said we were so happy we went with the larger size and would have regretted the smaller. Those guys in your pic will be happy, lol.

:) Honestly my husband started the TV tonight and I came in and had no bad reaction and then realized it’s a bigger TV and it looks good! Happy with our decision!
