I like the color you have on there. However, that one window to left of porch, that looks so dark, needs to look more like the window next to it. It looks like a black hole in your wall. The one with white curtains, looks very nice. I would want the two on the porch side to have the same window treatments as the one on the left.

Do you need to paint the siding, or is it just the trim that is in bad shape? You may be able to power wash the main body of the house and not paint it. The shutters need to go, please dont replace. Paint the brick the same color as the trim. Paint the porch roof haint blue, and a large area rug for the porch with blue and yellow. Not painting the whole house should save you a lot of money, unless you hate the gray.

Shutters do not belong to this house. I would eliminate them.

Thank you for the helpful responses! A lot of the siding is in bad condition so it will definitely need to be repainted. I like the idea of eliminating the shutters. As far as painting the brick, what color should it be? We also want to put a new skirt around the house. Should it be brick too? Painted or not? I also thought about using Old Chicago brick. Thoughts? What about whitewashing the brick? I’m totally open on color - would white be too boring? As far as the white/black windowswe, one of thr curtains is pulled back. Trim ideas around the windows if we eliminate the shutters? Thank you so much for the ideas.

I don't think you need more trim around the windows. I would leave the brick as is.

Skirting ideas

If you will have foundation plantings I would not do anything pricey with the skirting.

I would not paint the brick. It looks very nice with the rest of the house. You have a porch and you have sidewalks of that brick. The sidewalks would have to be painted too, and then you have a walkway, that is going to show wear all the time, and look bad. Same for the porch and the steps.

No shutters. Pale sage green on the house body, white trim. Maybe a cranberry or navy door, depending on the real-life color of your brick.
