What side patio? You show a front entry and a back (side?) porch. And the porch steps should extend all the way across--more attractive and inviting.

i would add some larger and more comfortable seating plus an ottoman, a few small side tables for a spot to set down drink, glasses, book etc..

+ a few large plants in good sized pots or baskets - not too small or it can look cluttered

How big is that space to me just a large porch no deck at all No space in front of the chimney since the door swings there so maybe a chair a small table and apot of plants enjoy a coffee in the morning. IMO the area around this could easily become a really nice entertaining deck with a good sized addition and run a nice porch across the front of the house

Depends on what you mean by decorative, how porch will be used and your budget. You could paint, add plants and call it a day.
