What paint color and where?

Hello, I would like to paint an accent wall/area in my kitchen and looking for ideas on a paint color. I plan to remove the floating shelf and replacing with several (6) 12"x12" photos instead. Debating painting that wall or the wall underneath where the stools are located - and then what paint color?????? These pics were taken during the daytime with lights on, and with lights off.

You need inspiration images. You’re having trouble because the space is pretty nice, neutral, light-filled, and because the concept of the accent wall is a little dated. Look for images of kitchens with shed ceilings (or is yours vaulted? can’t tell) and see if one of them grabs you. You know you could always make the ceiling a feature.

There is no wall to accent in your space. Photos of what? People? Scenery?

You have a nice kitchen... I don't recommend you paint an accent wall but you can paint the island. I have no idea of your colour scheme in the adjacent space so I've done the island in black.You can also replace the cabinet harware with black. I also suggest you update your lighting in the room, pendant and chandelier.

I definitely thought about painting the island. We have neutral tones in the adjacent room with a charcoal/black shiplap fireplace. May I ask how you changed the photo with the paint and frames? I like how you did that!

Also, the photos I intend on framing are family type photos.

No accent wall. I would do some large pieces of art on the wall with the shelf.

@kad760 I use PowerPoint and either draw or post another picture over your picture.

Family pictures in black frames would look nice, photos could also look awesome in black & white.

Accent walls are dated. your space is lovely - consider removing the shelf with all the little items and replacing it with one very large bold painting .

I love your kitchen too and agree with adding a large painting to replace the shelf. On a side note, what color are your walls painted? It’s such a creamy soothing color!
