Sorry for the mess we just moved! So we’re absolutely keeping the couch, coffee table and barstools. I feel like the side table isn’t grouped well with this furniture so not against getting rid of that. And then we’re keeping the tv and stand as well. I definitely plan on adding a rug btw.

I agree grey wasn’t on my list. I was thinking of having some sage green throw pillows maybe. Thanks for the help!

IMO clean up the mess then take pics of the whole room.Right now i think it is hard to advise about anything . I would start by getting a pice of art you love on taht empty wall then use colors from it for accenta and when you can get a sofa that can actually fit in the space a dn not a sectional. Rhe coffee is useless for that soafe . Sorry the furniture does not work n the space

Sadly I won’t be able to get rid of the couch or coffee table. If you can let me know why the coffee table doesn’t work for the sofa that’d be great.

I think sage green would be very blah on your sofa.

For me, bits of higher- contrast add interest. I’d the sofa kind of medium brown, mocha, maybe taupe? If you like blue, a medium blue would look good. Or a geometric with Black/ white/ sofa color would tie in walls & barstools & black electronics. Or a deeper green, especially if you will have any live green plants. Or medium- deep plum.

Instead of just imagining, see if you have some clothing or linens in different colors you could drape on sofa & see. Also can buy a few very returnable pillows to try out. But avoid filling sofa up with lots of pillows! But, a pillow that looks great can also suggest which direction to go, in some accessories. Pillows aren’t usually essential, so you could also shop for art that you love ( can be inexpensive prints), & then pick up on that.

Sorry, I wrote my reply before you posted that you were keeping your current furniture. I thought you were replacing the couch, so I agree that sage wouldn't be a great choice to go with what you have. Mixed with other complementary colors, it could. Please don't invite Patricia over because she hates sectionals, lol. I think they are great in lots of spaces and families.

The coffee table is fine with the sofa and looks new. Is there a coordinating side table in the same line that is still available? If not, you could look at painted white wood side tables that are similar in style. A pair of narrow or extra skinny side tables might be the best fit. Add table lamps and a colorful rug.

Thank you Olychick I agree with you on the sectional invite haha. The sectional seems like a lot in this angle but there’s a lot of space for the bar stools on the other end so I think it’s pretty spacious. I love the carpets you sent this will definitely expand my ideas on what colors I can use!

@apple_pie_order yes the coffee table is very new and it can turn into a table as well so we can play games on it when guests come over! I agree with the side table I think it should match better with the tv stand and coffee so I’ll keep that in mind :) and yes table lamps will be coming in the near future.

The coffee table is too high for me . And it doesn't give you the added comfort benefits of a large ottoman. Leather would work also as a table, but the cost is a consideration. I'd look on Marketplace and CL and maybe modify something. Way overpriced new.

Walls are pale gray and you won't be painting? The wood tone on your TV stand looks very pinkish in the picture, or is that just the light?

It’s the lighting for sure. My walls are white and the tv stand is like a light oak.

You might find this 60 30 10 tip helpful. In short, make sure you only have one accent colour, and repeat it throughout the room until it's 10%. I think your neutrals take care of the 60% and 30%. Do you have any wall art that you're planning to use?

Green is always a nice accent if you have a green thumb, or if you have enough light for plants that are easy care.
