Blank Wall with Window Behind Projector

Initial caveat: We’re in this house for another 6 months so I’m not looking for a huge remodel or major expenses. Yes, the wall color needs changing but I’m going to have the whole house painted this winter so that’s a later me problem…

Here’s the dilemma: our projector is installed above the window in our living room because I’m not a fan of how the room looks with the couch facing the large wall. There’s 1.5” (max) of space between the wall and the screen, and that means my options for decorating the wall and doing window treatments are pretty slim (pun intended).

I’d like to do light filtering curtains but is that doable to hang them so tight to the wall? Would I do a pattern? Should I just consider buying a really large thin canvas and doing a date night where we paint something abstract together and hang it behind the chair on the left? I’m also considering a small table behind the driftwood with a tall blue skinny vase and tall reeds in it to add some height to the room.

Please clarify: Are you planning to move out, have it all painted, and then sell the place in six months?

I'm not sure why you would change anything if you're moving out in six months. Unless there are some unusual paint colors to cover up it's usually not even necessary to paint before listing. There's no guarantee the buyer will like the paint color you choose, even if it's white (I don't like white walls myself), so save your time and money. But if you really want advice on curtains you need to post a picture showing the window wall.

@kandrewspa - that is the window wall with the screen down. We’re probably renting the place and the guy before me did the walls and the ceiling the same smoker beige color so it just needs to be done. I’ll grab a photo of the wall with just the window, but it’s just a single pane there.

@apple_pie_order - the disclaimer was just so I didn’t get radically expensive solutions. My move time isn’t particularly relevant otherwise. I’ll probably have it painted in the next couple months and we may sell or rent.

Just do an inside mounted roman shade in a neutral color that matches whatever wall color you end up with.

Sorry stupid place for a screen and the empty wall is where it should be . Now just any old pull down shade since you will not see it anyway
