You have some nice reds! Of course I love Ruby Spider. Seems like everybody does. Of the others my favorites are Cherokee Star and Soco Gap. Too bad about Pigs - it has an interesting look and a funny name. Tall Dark Stranger looks purple on my screen. And how cool about Fernstone, usually a move is to a better spot :)

When I thought of my reds, Ruby Spider immediately came to mind. For some reason I always think I don't have many reds..

David, I like Charm City Cerise Glow, a great color. It reminds of My Best Bloomers. I am never sure if I should put it in the pink or red category. Apache War Dance caught my eye too, another great dark red…..I dont have any dark reds anymore.

Here are some of our favorite reds.

Flaming Phoenix was new this season, but I think I'm really going to like it.

Heavenly Christmas Cactus is one of our best performers.

I believe Heavenly United We Stand deserved the Stout Medal. It's a great grower here.

Hell on Heels always put on the show in the mid-late garden.

Joe Burrow has taken its sweet time getting established, but it really showed off this past summer.

Sky Dragon is another relatively new one. It is quite tall.

I like Heavenly United We Stand, similar to one i have. dont temember seeing Heavenly Cristmas Cactus, look nice…….reminds me a bit of Rosies Cotyon Ribbons that I love

David, my favorite are Stolen Heart and Apache war dance.

Sherry, my pictures weren't ready at that time but I wanted to comment. I think why I think I do not have reds is because I think of tomato red reds and mine are not, although I really like them all. I would love to have a red self with a light edge and also a red with a very light contrasting watermark.

Here are some of mine:

Ruby Spider - you already posted it but I take so many pictures of it 'cause I love it, so it was easy to find

Man of Sorrows - also love, so nice

Forever Redeemed - another favorite, but sadly like some of mine is deteriorating

Feathered Storm - not the biggest fan of doubles but I keep a few, and this one when it's fully open looks like roses from afar. But.. it is a slow opener and I usually forget to take pictures later, plus reds (and purples) melt here when it's hot and humid very quickly. I could not find a fully open picture but it does look very nice then.

Oh, like David I also like Fear Not. I actually have one with "red" in its name, Red Friday, it's not red here and frankly looks quite awful here :)) But it opens well and has a good bud count.

and Bombay Silk - it's more like rosy red but some days looks quite red, also a bit slow to open but somehow that doesn't bother me, it's proportionally not fully open :)

Sherry, Tall Dark Stranger and Soco Gap are my favorites of yours. David, I like Stolen Heart. Nancy, Heavenly United We Stand is so pretty. Nat, Man of Sorrows is probably my favorite red of all of these. I also like and have Bombay Silk.

Impetuous Fire is a great bloomer. Sort of a rosy red like Bombay Silk,

Impetuosity is pretty but not a profuse bloomer.

Cherry Treat is a really pretty late one.

Still too busy in the garden to do much chatting, but just popped in to see some nice reds. Anyone who has been here any time knows my favorite red is Wayah Valley and so it remains. For one of my other top favorite reds see Sherry's Cherokee Star. I almost lost it again last winter, but one fan survive, but did not flower. It is a showstopper.......I'll add one that MAY be up there depending on it's second year. This first year I was very impressed.

I had a lot of red seedlings I liked a lot, but time and space prohibited moving all of them. These were my top favorites and are now planted in Indiana. Most of them are evergreen, so they may or may not survive the winter.

Red Venom X Dancing Flamingo is dormant, so I expect it will do well. I wonder if the flowers will be 8 inches in diameter here.

Sherry - I love it here, but things are not perfect. I have some of the same pests I'd hoped to leave in the rearview mirror: grubs and groundhogs. There aren't as many grubs as I had in Nashville, but there are some in my major planting area. That's part of what's making planting go slow. I'm sifting through the soil and squashing grubs to death. There's a groundhound living under my deck or shed, or possibly both. It ate through the electric cable to my HVAC and I had a costly bill to replace the cable with a larger, stronger one. There are several raccoons on my block, but the neighbors say they've never seen deer here.

At least no deer! Racoons are around here, never had a problem with them in the gardens. Would be good if the ground hog left, my friend in Syracuse calls them whistle pigs. I hope you get everything you want to do done.
