Persian Shield in a pot with ?

Still holding its own (with a lobelia) in this the last week of September and the accompanying cooler nights.

For those of you that use this annual in a container, what other plant have you included with it? I ask as I have used it for several years as I like it a lot but I'm never quite sure what to pair it with for best effect given its purple colour and my need for shade loving plants.

rouge I don't grow this nearly as much as I'd like (it never seems to be readily available around my area) but i have paired it with white impatiens and sweet potato vine. My pots are in about half shade/ half sun.

I found it too hard to find a color I liked with the purple of the persian shield, so I stopped trying, and just stuck with the white. And I do like the contrast of the PS with the chartreuse of the sweet potato vine.

Well, that is, IF the PS stays purple lol. Mine, the few times I grew it, always seem to just turn green.

I never partnered it with anything -- it's a stand-alone plant in the right pot IMO.
