Pictures of the actual house would help. Not a rendering. What type of wood are the beams (not all wood will take stain the same)? If still under construction I would wait.

Thank you for the advice. It’s all coming together in the next three days so I need to get a stain color going. This should be a nice picture with the evening sun. The portico goes above the cement porch obviously. I did post recently, but I posted in lighting and I received some great advice.

Your stone is has a real orange undertone. I'd not use your rendering as it doesn't give an accurate idea of what the body of the house actually looks like. How dark is the cedar to begin with? I'd like to see a piece of the actual cedar held up to your stone to get an idea of where the color can go. Maybe you clear coat instead of staining it? Show actual materials and samples. And are you installing a totally new roof that is as dark as the rendering?

As requested, here are more photos. I’m not sure how much orange is really in the stone, I think it might need a good Powerwashing.

The new roof will at the old one as much as possible, although that could be problematic, I do have a very, very good contractor who is confident in the results. So, limestone, peppercorn, and what color stain? It’s such a big decision and too important for me to think I have the talent to make the call. I don’t.
