Blackout or light filtering shade

last year

Wanting to add a window treatment to a bathroom window. The window is frosted so no privacy issues but it gets direct morning sunlight which is very bright and warm. Looking to add a roman shade that will reduce the light intensity and add esthetics to the room. Wondering since it is already a frosted window, should I get a "light filtering" shade, or will that not be enough and opt for a blackout shade. Of course either can be adjusted to preference but want to be sure if I choose the light filtering option, it would adequately reduce the uncomfortable morning sun when closed. Does the color of the shade make a difference for the light filtering option (light vs dark color for example)?

Thanks for any expert advice
