Coastal theme. Walls, trim, doors, ceiling, custom desk & shelves all painted High Reflective White satin finish to minimize eye distractions and establish a simple, classic and clean look. Floors will be walnut wood look tile (darker brown) to compliment the HRW paint. Inspiration photo included

Having tough time deciding on window treatment (natural or walnut brown woven shade, or white shade w/fabric cornice in white with simple azure blue print pattern), or other.

Lighting is another stumbling block for me, thinking brushed brass lamp or if I can find a very inconspicuous under shelf light (warm white), maybe that could work.

And a possible reading chair, either a leather reading chair (but what color) or fabric but unsure style and possible color.

Note the desk cabinets and shelves were recently professionally painted and still curing so I cannot begin to place things just yet so these pics are work in progress.

For many, many years my Nana had one in her home and I have always been fond of it, and even more so her and Papa. Something meaningful spins inside with the thought of having one.

You need some color in there to break it up. A nice fabric roman shade with a pattern of blues/greens on a white background would be nice.

Agree! Was looking at some beautiful printed fabrics for a possible cornice as an option if I used a nice, white light textured roller shade which the cornice would hide the roller. And all my accents, wall art are azure blue with a little sprinkle of green & pop of a yellow. The space currently has very little in it due to the paint curing :-). There is a very slight pop of black also hence the cabinet knobs. Thank you for your suggestion, definitely noted!!
