The new owner of Annie's Annuals has posted their closing. I genuinely hope she's able to find a way forward for the business.

Dear Annie’s Community,
After many wonderful years, it’s with a heavy heart that I share that Annie’s Annuals & Perennials will close its doors today.
Thank you to everyone who has made Annie’s such a special place—our amazing team, loyal customers, trusted suppliers, and the beloved Richmond community. I’m grateful beyond words for the support you’ve given Annie’s. Thank you for embracing us and coming back year after year.
I feel it’s important to share that my health has played a significant role in reaching this point. Over the past few months, I have faced serious and unexpected health challenges. Throughout this difficult time, I’ve worked tirelessly to explore every possible way to keep the nursery going. Sadly, despite my best efforts, the challenges—both personal and business-related—escalated much faster than I ever anticipated, and I could no longer maintain business operations.
Even as I step away, I remain hopeful that Annie’s legacy can live on. Discussions with potential buyers are progressing with the hope that Annie’s brand and offerings endure.
Though our doors are closing, I hope the plants and memories you’ve taken home will continue to grow and thrive in your gardens for many years to come.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for the unforgettable memories. Its been an honor to serve you.

She screwed over her employees and is most likely closing due to throwing a pot and disfiguring her employee. Sorry for the nursery but not sorry for her.

Yes, this is the person who bought Annie's when Annie herself retired. I hope she finds a buyer, and that she herself recovers her health.

I popped quickly over to the site to order a few things on my wish list before the nursery goes away, but alas, it is already too late. They are no longer accepting orders. I'm grateful that I ordered my favorite pure white foxgloves a month ago, and have them safely planted in my new garden.

Apparently, high quality people capable of this difficult job are in short supply. Kitty probably has the energy. Ben could bring Elon. AquaBlue eyes had a lot of energy too.

Rosefolly, she was selling gift cards just days before. That speaks a lot about her character! In fact I believe it's illegal to sell them when you know you are closing.

I lost a $35 store credit too. I don't see how all the people on Reddit are exaggerating.
