Nightstand Suggestions

I have a new light oak/rattan queen bed and dresser in MCM style. Love them!
Still thinking through what color nightstands to purchase. (The ones pictured are temporary. The curtains are also temporary until I get new white linen ones.)
The room is not big, so I'm needing nightstands no wider than 21 inches.
Black? White? A darker wood tone than oak?
What do you recommend?
