Inquring minds want to know: Why are you replacing the siding?

Maybe a soft gray that matches the color in the stone or grout. The two color samples you have set on the house right now are too dark - with your current roof and stone, they will make the house appear top heavy.

I'm also wondering why you want to change the siding/color. What you have now looks good. If you don't have to change the siding, I'd keep what you have and spend the $$ on landscaping, which would really improve the curb appeal of the house.

The enormous driveway makes the house look small and sad.

My thought on the darker siding was to mimic something like this. I could possibly lime wash the brick to make it a cooler tone?

The big driveway might make the house look sad, but my kids love it :-)

I like Hardie's Iron Gray for you house.

Your inspiration photo the siding is so dark it looks almost black? I think a mid-tone grey could look quite nice. Clean up the stone in the front and you may like its compliment better with grey siding samples to consider. Have garage door same color as siding but if possible, update the door to have windows across the top. I would wait on changing color of front door until after updates are completed. When budget allows, landscaping front and back would balance out the charm of this nice property!

I like that middle range charcoal you've selected in your first photo, the plank on the right. It works well with the darker colors in the stone you have.

I saw your photos and I like the way it looks in the photos. The deck could be lighter- like natural cedar. I thought you were keeping the stone and yet your inspo stone is gray.

@Patricia Colwell Consulting thanks. the driveway is not as dramatic in person. I know we need landscaping and actually a new deck is coming in the spring, so that can be modified too. Although the size of our deck works really well for us so i dont see us adding on to it. I mean the ultimate dream would be to extend deck all the way across and add french doors where the big windows are, but that is not in the budget anytime soon.

I also vote for a mid tone gray. It’ll bridge the color gap between the dark roof and the stone. Lovely home.

Landscaping is also a big item to think about in your renovation project.
