IMO any new chandelier needs to be hung lower the bottom of the light 36" from the table top . I do not see much color so I am all for adding some but it needs to be aded with some balance so not just one fixture dropped into a space . The first fixture is in the UK and I do not find one in the US but Vakkerlighting is easily found .

Thanks for the feedback. We do like having few non standard items and making ”bold” choices (especially with things that can be easily replaced). Would you place the new lighting over the table? in that case would you keep the fixture over the island? Any recommendations of fun brands would be appreciated:-)

@Patricia Colwell Consulting I fell in love with several Vakkerlight fixtures and was heartbroken today to read they are a complete scam using images from real designers but shipping cheap knock-offs. I don't want to believe it. I found several fixtures on Amazon and some other vendor sighs like Lamps Plus and Lumens. I don't know who to trust. I feel like I have to start all over again. Please! Someone who knows... Help the OP and me too.

Uh oh, the Vakkerlight team did not deny their pictures are not authentic. So your pictures are not real photos of your products…

I bought a couple of wall sconces from Vakkerlight and am very pleased with them. I almost didn't because of what I read here. But they were so nice to me in their emails and answered all my questions and concerns thoroughly. I intend to purchase a floor lamp from them soon. They have such amazing designs.

I’m sure you can find good products there. I’m just against copying authentic designs and mass producing them. I think it’s unfair so I will not be purchasing anything from them.

Yeah, Ediz, I wholeheartedly understand where you are coming from. I would consider buying from the original artists if I could find a source for them. I tried using an image search but couldn't find them. I know that if I want to find artistically interesting light fixtures, which I am really nuts about, I can find plenty at Vakkerlight. I've only bought a pair of wall sconces so far, but they worked, after our electrician attached a wall plate to secure them. Next I am going to try a floor lamp. I couldn't find the original. Hi kl23, that is a cool light in Bauhaus style. I believe this design is not attributed to a specific designer (I could be wrong) but similar products can be found on platforms like Etsy,Pamono, 1stDibs (overpriced but some interesting designs). I love vintage shops
On Etsy that are located in Italy, Spain, Danmark, Germany. Also you can checkout international websites who ship to Australia like Finnishdesignshop.com , they have unique designs. Also depending on where in Australia you are, there are lighting shops that bring authentic designs from all over the world like Richmond Lighting or Creativelighting in Vic, Nook Collections in NSW or designFarm in WA. Plus there are so many small businesses here in Australia who hand make products, like WePonder. It takes a little time to search and find the right product but personally I love the hunt and I see so many new things that broaden my sense of style. Anyway, hope this helps…

They market lamps from all over. I never had torchiers before and am anxious to try them. The light I want to get from Vakkerlight is a downlight I want to pull over to a puzzling table when needed and otherwise highlight a step down from my dining room to my living room. I will check out the names you mentioned. Thank you. I absolutely go nuts over artistic lighting design. In my recent upper level renovation I think I've been happiest with these lights. The idea was that they are the bottoms of dandelions and the anaglypta on the wall represented grass.
