Here’s the current living room.
Was thinking of doing a built in to the right of the tv to hide the sound system. Suggestions on how to hide the long sound bar?

Buy a good looking sound bar, if aesthetics is you priority.

I am not sure moving the sound bar to the side is optimal. For best sound, I usually see the sound bar mounted above or below a TV. Sound bars are available with a slim profile.

Ours attaches directly to the bottom of the TV - you can’t even tell it’s there.

You need a new sound bar. My base just sits on the bottom shelf of my bookcase next to the tv/ with the books etc you don’t see the bass speaker.

OP has a frame TV so mounting it to the TV will ruin that aesthetic.

We have a frame TV as well and have a built in next to our TV/fireplace. Our sound bar sits on top of the cabinets in the built in. Sure, it's not "optimal" but no one can tell that the sound isn't coming from the TV, and we're not audiophiles. We also have another room with a theater set up for that. Based on your furniture arrangement, this isn't exactly an ideal TV watching space either.

The sub can be placed anywhere in the room if it's wireless. If your soundbar system is old, consider upgrading. Sonos's system is really easy to set up and you can get their speakers in white, which would disappear a bit more into your wall/trim. Their sub is also wireless so you can put it anywhere.

You also don't have to build anything in there - just get a nice piece of furniture like a side board, and maybe mount shelves above it.

If it is a Frame TV, it comes with built-in speakers. Are they perfect for audiophiles? Probably not. In my family room I didn't want any "ugly" speakers, so I use the built-in speakers that came with the Frame TV and they work just fine for watching news, home design shows and movies. We have a separate media room with all types of speakers if you really want to have a surround sound experience when watching a movie. Personally I'm not a fun of surround sound, specially with newer movies that put all the volume into the background noises and seem to mute conversations.
