What is behind the door? If you never use it, drywall over it so you have a solid wall large enough for your TV.

You could get a smaller tv!

If this is a rental you could curtain the whole wall.

paint the wall, doors and trim SW Naval and mount the TV on the wall centered 42" above the floor (at eye Level) and remove the cabinet.

How often does the door need to be accessed ? A curtain wall makes the most sense to do but we need a bit more info.

If you want a long term solution and budget and effort allow, you could remove the doorframe, add a flush door, paint entire wall, and add molding.

Could just add a decorative screen that complements the console and move console/tv to right, as far as is still practical.

Will suggest that you dispense with the tv stand and mount the tv on the wall to the right of the door. that should be doable even if this is a rental.

That is great idea since IMO the tv is a bit high anyway.
