Offset Fireplace with High Ceiling - Need Design Ideas

last year

Hi.

Looking for some design direction. We are in the midst of a re-model and ready to decide on the wall in between our living room and kitchen where the fireplace goes. Previously, it was centered on the wall with an overmantel went all the way to the top of the 18' ceiling. Part of the remodel had us open the wall to the left of where the fireplace was. As we "reassemble" the living room and decide how to put a fireplace back in, we are deciding on the look. Our overall design feel is a modern rustic look. We will have a TV on this wall. I do want to have a mantel. I'm not set on stone, brick, shiplap, or any particular material yet. I'm not interested in a hearth. The new fireplace will be electric so it does not have to go exactly where the old one was. The aspect that seems to be stumping me most when searching for ideas is that the overall wall is not symmetrical any longer. We love the way the layout will be for the function of our space, but need help on the design for this wall. Would love to hear others creative ideas. We have one, but I don't want to lead anyone in a particular direction right out of the gate. Thanks in advance!
