Hi. You need to measure and do a thumbnail floor plan with all dimensions. I would be happy to do it in scale for you. Start in the corner. Measure corner to window, window, window to corner … all the way around the room including openings and doors. More pic would help. Shot entering and all walls .. in daylight.

Measure all the furniture you are keeping. What colors and style do you like? Tell us more about your lifestyle.. Do you need bookcases, desk space, eating table ? This could be really design centric!

I prefer the bed to be less obvious. I wonder if you can pull the couch into the center of the room and place the bed behind it? Hard to say without a floor plan. Enjoy your first place!

State right at the beginning what the room will be used for and who will use it. State the non-negotiables at the beginning, what has to be kept. Give some idea of the budget.

Keep in mind that you're inviting some design pros and people with a design eye into your home via photos. If they walked into your actual space, they would take in all of it: all four sides, doorways, floors, windows, ceiling, built-in fixtures, lighting, trim--the "givens"--then the features that can be changed--furnishings, paint, art, rugs, decor items, etc. It's all one first impression. Same thing with photos. That's why it's important to provide well lit photos of the entire space, taken from all sides of a room regardless of the size of your problem.

While we're waiting for measurements and more photos, just passing on that getting layout right precedes decorating. So probably some of us will suggest moving things around a bit once we see all sides of the room along with all doorways, windows, and kitchen.

Accessorizing: art, cushions, layered bedding and warm lighting and connect the space by repeating colors and the ”look”.

Layout: does the space allow for more of a usage separation… bed where sectional is, adding desk next to bed (also acting as a night stand). Could add a screen for visual separation either between LR or between kitchen/dining. Try sectional where tv is and tv where bed is.
