Bosch Induction NITP660SUC Coil Sharing

This Bosch https://www.bosch-home.com/us/en/mkt-product/cooking-baking/induction-electric-cooktops/induction-cooktops/NITP660UC has a bridge mode whereas there are 4 smaller "coils" (ovals) from front to back. Seems better than two burners being coupled with a cooler spot between them. Anyway, the spec sheet for the bridge mode says that it uses 3300W and 3600W in boost mode. So, if I am using regular heat mode, with a griddle covering all 4 coils, it will be using a total of 3300W. So does that mean that each little burner is using only 825W (3300/4)?

It can't be 3300W x 4 because that = 13,200W and the max for the unit is 12,000. So maybe I just answered my own question, but how could it be only 825W/spot? Seems low.

To confuse matters, they also give a spec that combines the two front smaller coils of the bridge as one burner and the two smaller coils in the back as one burner. Those have specs of 2200W (1100/coil?) and 3600W (1800/coil?) boosted.

Thoroughly confused. I called Bosch 3 times. One lady was not very nice and told me to read the manual which I did. Another lady was connecting me to a tech but we got cut off, so I'm a bit frustrated.

    This is how I read it:

    • If you put ONE pot on the front left/right zone it's 3300/3600 (covering two elements, flex off)
    • If you put ONE pot on the back left/right zone it's 2200/3600 (covering two elements, flex off)
    • If flex is ON and one pot covers three or four zones, then it's 2200/3600.
    • If flex is ON, and you have one pot on the left/right front zone and/or one pot on the left/right back zone, each is 2200/3600.
    • You can boost only three zones simultaneously.

    Thank you for your feedback. I've attached the spec sheet below to hopefully clarify my question. 1st spec is for the Full Zone (a Full Zone is comprised of 4 elements, see pic above) which can produce up to 3300W/3600W. So in the example of having a griddle covering all 4 elements, the spec is 3300/3600 watts. Does that mean that each element is only putting out 825/900 watts? (3300/3600 divided by 4). If that's the case I'm not so sure how effective this Full Zone would be at only 825W under each section.

    I read the spec sheet and the user manual. OK, I changed my mind.

    • If flex is "split" then there are four cooking zones total, each consisting of two induction elements. The power available to each zone is 2200/3600.
    • If flex is "joined", then there are two cooking zones -- left and right -- and the elements turned on will depend on the the number of pots, the sizes of the pots, and their locations on a zone (see diagram at the upper left of page 15 of the user manual). Each zone's total power is 3300/3600, spread among the elements as necessary.

    I think the whole thing is stupid. These "features" serve no purpose and are just an excuse to jack up the price to $3400. And Bosch cooktops suffer from having only one control to set the power level. I'd get the GE PHP9036DTBB which has a control for each element, bridging, and costs $2000. Or even better, the Frigidaire FPIC3677RF ($1250) which has physical knobs and bridging.
