Entryway design

Any advice on how to decorate this narrow entryway? My house is odd. You enter directly into the kitchen area ( we removed the dining room because we wanted a more open space. It's pretty narrow. I have lived here for 18 years and yet to figure this out!

This cabinet is only 2 feet wide but is 6 feet tall. Should hold a lot of shoes. Place it facing the door on the short wall with two red frames.

I like the gallery wall, it seems viewable from up close.

I like the cabinet @tracefloyd shared. If there’s room on the side of the cabinet, add hooks to hold those backpacks. Get a longer runner rug that complements the wall color.
