HOA Florida exterior colors

Our community has used the same exterior colors since 2009. After enduring five hurricanes, we believe it is a good time to introduce some changes to the community.

We love Benjamin Moore's revere pewter and beach glass and would be looking for other neutral colors to use on the exteriors without looking washed out in the bright sun. We thought Chantilly Lace would be a good trim color.

We can't decide on two more colors to use. We have 54 two home units. We would like a nice gray, but can't decide. Need help. Our colors now are green tones, tan tones, yellow tones and a salmon colors that really date our community. We would appreciate suggestions.

I have a suggestion: stop being autocrats and let people choose their own paint colors.

If you let people choose their own paint colors, change will occur organically because "we" won't be dictating them.

Why not get rid of the limited requirements and let people use whatever color they like?

Revere Pewter can have a distinct green undertone. I have it in my home and like it a lot, but Beach Glass isn't the best choice for its partner. Go a bit deeper.

Chantilly Lace is okay, but consider.

What issues would letting people pick their own paint cause? Your neighbor might paint his house purple? There's a purple house or two in most towns around here. Most of them look great. A lavender house is not going to ruin the neighborhood.

We painted the exterior of our house mindfull grey with black fox for front door and pure white trim. Had to apply for HOA to approve.

After us many homeowners came to ask for our colors to paint their houses.

Another way is to check colors at parade of new houses , they have now nice palette of colors.
