I have an idea for a trifle that includes gingerbread, pears, and an eggnog custard. i have found a few receipes that I can piece together from. i was thinking of roasting the pears in a brandied sugar glaze., i would appreciate any thoughts on it. Does it even sound appealing to anyone but me? I am planning to make and take it to a small dinner party on Friday. My plan is to roast the pears and make the gingerbread cake today, and assemble it tomorrow afternoon. I had originally wanted to make individual servings, but I cant think of a proper glass to serve it that way.

I guess I am just looking for suggestions. I rreally want to include brandy in it, but not to overpower the flavour, so would adding a touch to the custard put if over the top?
