How we fix the patio?

Cheers, Houzz friends! I am a new at the Houzz site and I like it very much. I want to ask a few questions about the patios. We renovate the backyard and contractor made a pretty professional work drying the water. But now we notice a little amount of water in the corner (it is a large 700 square feets patios). I attach the pictures for your convenience view. My questions I want to ask are: is there're a best way to fix this? The water is stay because the stones at the end are a little higher above the pavers, do we have to break up the stones to fix this? How people fix this? I hoping we don't have to do all over again!

I would call the contractor and emil him/her your pictures. Those outer stones should be even with the others for drainage. What you have is unacceptable, but if you did a final inspection and paid the total, it is unlikely that he will fix it for you. Hope he is willing to, though.

You could possibly install a channel/trench drain to help divert the water

@cyn427 (z. 7, N. VA) stones were level when I approve project. Stones went down a 1/4in with time, 2 year. I think contractor moved from my city. He's not available again

@la_la Girl, A trench drain is good idea, but I have to break the stone, right? Not sure how that go in the corner

How is this built? If only the center stones sunk makes me think the perimeter is set in concrete and the field is set in sand?

@HALLETT & Co., center is dirt compacted with weed sheets on top, gravel and rubber paverbase. The side is concrete. As I remember, it was from begin already a little below. If it came down, it was very little, 2-3mm. But you are right, with time it could be worse.

So they need to pull up the field stones and add more paver base then reinstall.

Hallett is probably correct, but I wonder if you could do some kind of weep holes through the lip stone, or even between?

Basically cut away the grout or mortar between the edge stones creating a runnel. Worth a try

I agree with Hallett but it might only temporarily stop the problem. I have reservations on whether you are up to diy so I recommend having a pro assess it.

Rubber anything is a terrible option for a paver patio base. Look at the Romex aggregate system. It's aggregate, bound in resin, so it doesn't shift over time, yet remains pervious. The fine scale aggregate in between the pavers is also resin bound, and is also pervious. So, you would never have water standing on it, because water passes through it.

Sorry Mauro. I thought it was a new patio. Settling of hardscape is so annoying. Hope you find a fix that is relatively easy and not too expensive.
