Rethink the entire plan so you have windows in the living room.

why such high ceilings and no windows?

For me, a new build would require much more natural light.

Do you really have that much to display?

My husband is an avid hunter with several mounts. I may not do the vault quite as high but it’s one of his wants. I personally prefer not to have mounts at eye level so it’s something we’ve compromised on. Yes, the build site is quite close to the road so I like the feel of the privacy it gives from the front. We have a beautiful backyard area with several large oaks and other mature trees and I’d like that to be more of a focus point.

The more remote the mounts are from the kitchen the better off they will be.

The room is very cave-like and closed in. So many closets and furniture. The doors are like light at the end of the tunnel. No skylights even? The front door is very cramped.

If I had to choose I would want windows at the living room end and the dining table at the darker end especially if you eat breakfast in the kitchen

How does the plan relate to the pics you posted ? Those mounts need ahome not where you entertan guests for sure . I did a man cave for a hunter all his mounts in there, a nice bar some comfh chairs and he can enjoy them forever with his other hunter buddies . As for if you should do french doors in the DR where would they lead ?

I like the look of a set of French doors with side windows over dual sliding doors in a dining area.

Agree with Patricia, a man cave for mounts and hunter buddies. One mount not too bad, but more than one requires a man cave, or maybe better put a hunters cave.

With the dining table so close to the back outer wall, the two sliders will probably work better for easier traffic flow around the table.
