old tile floors

I am looking to replace my old tile floors but lifting and replacing them is very expensive. I have about 1500 sqft of tiling so I am wondering if there is a treatment or coating that can be put on top of the tile that looks like cement or granite that has good wear as it is in my kitchen. We live in Ontario, Canada

I would do two things. Firstly get more quotes on tile removal- I’ve been doing this for 20 years and demo has never been the driving cost of any project. Secondly get a quote on a micro cement topping- it’s a thin slurry of cement over the tile that can have color or texture and gets polished and clear coated. It’s what they use in car dealerships etc

Photos will help us help you. Bit no paint never holds up long term on tile. Great as a short term fix. Micro cement maybe…

These tile floors are 22 years old and have served us well, but we are wanting to renovate this area and move to a more modern look like a cement porcelain tile in gray tones. The cost to replace the floor is more than the kitchen cabinets so I am looking for a more reasonable option.

I have micro cement in my bathroom floors (with waterproofing) and highly recommend. Comes in lots of colors and textures. No more grout to clean!

Gray is OUT. Those actually look very current. Keep them!
