Plus, the flush mount will be more space-efficient for a lower ceiling.

If you're aiming to keep things simple and avoid clutter, you can still achieve a good level of illumination with one well-chosen fixture. In terms of lumens, 800-1000 lumens should work well for both the office and bedroom, but consider dimmable options so you can adjust the light based on the time of day or mood you’re trying to create.

Remember, lighting is a key element in setting the tone of a room. A slim flush mount light offers clean, contemporary design without drawing too much attention to itself, while providing adequate illumination for both work and relaxation.

Agree that that will work, but I can't imagine a desk *or* a bedroom without a lamp, the one for reading in bed (or not having to run from the wall to the bed in the dark) and the other for reading papers and other close work -- if you don't need it now, believe me you will! :)
