Jasper Blue granite?

last year

Anyone have experience and/or pics of this as countertop?

It’s actually more greenish than blue. There’s almost nothing I can find on it on the internet.

I can only find it referred to as a granite….or just as a “natural stone”.

It’s a pretty stone! Have you found an actual slab of this? Or did you just see pix on the internet? If only on internet, perhaps go to some stoneyards and see what they have. Individual yards often have different names for stones.

I did find a few slabs locally. Surprised that I cannot find hardly any mention of it, or alternate names for it on the internet.
It looks like a good quality granite, passed the “scratch test”.

If you love it, I suggest keeping other elements in your kitchen fairly simple. I’m sorry I don’t have personal experience with this particular granite. However, I’ve had great luck with four different granites in previous homes. Very durable and easy to care for.

You make a good point! I’m also considering a leathered Virginia Mist/Jet Mist. Way less busy pattern!

It’s a nice looking stone but whether you use it or any other stone depends on what else is going on in the room. Colors, styles, patterns? I love Jet Mist granite and used it in my kitchen with white cabinets, crackled gray tile backsplash, oak floors and reclaimed ceiling beams.

Hoping to achieve a scandi/japandi look.
Floors will be lightish oak, and cabinets will be as stained a medium light wood shade.
People seem to usually use a white counter…but I don’t want quartz, and I don’t want to pay the higher price for a quartzite.

You might be misunderstanding Scandi/Japandi if this is your stone choice. Its busy look is antithetical to the minimalist theme of those spaces, as it is to their eco-consciousness. You can absolutely have white counters, just think laminate or solid surface instead of quartz.

I do see that the Jasper Blue would be too busy. Do you think the leathered Jet Mist wouldn’t work either?

It would be helpful if you posted photos of the flooring and cabinetry you are considering. If I'm understanding your style and colors, Jet Mist would be a nice contrast to the light woods.
