I would love to see some photos of spaces you are drawn to! That way we can get a better feel for the styles you see that you love.

You have a lot going on in the room right now and a very bold kitchen cabinet, so I would also recommend using a color visualizer or a digital mockup to try out different options before you commit. And a lot goes into creating the overall feel of a space, so even if you get the right color but everything else in the room fights that style, it still may not feel like the inspo pictures you see. If you have any pre-christmas photos of the furniture and they way you typically have the room set, that would help us also!

Inspiration pics would really help. Not sure how a color is necessarily rustic, but if you show us a space you love, we could help you figure it out.

I think a sage green paint would lean towards rustic. Please post a picture after the holidays so we can see the room in it's normal state

Sage green is a nice & also a warm color. But, would it complement the turquoise blue cabinets? That’s a point that needs to be factored in to color choice because the cabinetts are so visible from the LR area. The color I suggested, SW Rowhouse Tan would look great with cabinets in adjacent space. BTW, it’s the color my entire home is painted & years later I still love it. Goes with all of my warm colors, all of my wood tones & looks different in different lighting,

all of these photos could be considered rustic is some way, I am using the cabinet color as a jumping point, as should you. notice a theme i the wall colors...

Is the stairway wall half done, or is this intentional. Agree photos without Christmas decor would be preferred.

Thank you so much, everyone, for responding. I'll post pictures once I get the decorations put away. I don't really know if I have 1 or even 2 styles that I can claim. I do know that I love warm, inviting areas with little things to find and appreciate. But I share the house with my family. My husband likes plain and basic. I don't like gold. We have too many pets for anything to be white besides the trim. Our kids are crazy, so nothing breakable. I love that light idea!
